Is there a more formidable organized extortion racket that has ever existed than American Police Departments? If there is, I'd like to hear about it. They've trampled more rights, inflicted more harm and extracted more wealth than any organization I can think of. And the fact that there are still so many leather munchers panicking that their “protectors” are threatening to quit is beyond my ability to comprehend or sympathize.
