In response to Braden's comment about it being easy to get restraining/protection orders, it depends on where you live. In Idaho, it took me 5 tries and 8 months to finally get a protection order against my psychotic stalker of a neighbor, and the police would never enforce it. We called them 84 times in a 20-month period before we finally gave up on calling them. He was making DEATH THREATS and the cops didn't give a sh*t! We finally just wound up moving. It was getting too dangerous. There were 30+ more incidents that the police weren't even aware of. All they ever did was "take a report" and give us nothing but word salad and we have more than enough video proof. The police are now useless as far as I'm concerned. It's not just a few bad apples anymore, IT'S THE ENTIRE ORCHARD!!! Defund The Police!
